The Real King’s Speech, Sunday, June 12.
I watched the Oscar Winning version with Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush last night (more robust review to follow). The DVD skipped several times which annoyed me to no end, but I still enjoyed the film. The pacing was somewhat slow but the relationship that forms between Firth and Rush’s characters is remarkable, often hysterical, and in my opinion worth all of the academy award acclaim it received. Well done Colin. At times it was difficult to listen to you, but that’s what made the film successful.
National Geographic will be doing a documentary on June 12th at 7:30 p.m. featuring Lionel Logue’s grandson.
