Where is everybody?

With the advent of Facebook and Twitter I’m increasingly aware of what my “friends” are doing – and how often I’m not included.  Is everyone really hanging out without me?  I know Mindy has the answer to this and many other pressing questions.

The Hunger Games – 3/23/12

The Hunger Games Trailer

One of the many perks of being an Amazon Prime member and a Kindle owner is the Kindle Owner’s Lending Library.  This week I downloaded Suzanne Collins book “The Hunger Games” – I finished it in three days.  At first, I thought a book about children stuck in an arena fighting to the death wouldn’t be my cup of tea, but I was immediately drawn into the story through the eyes of Katniss Everdeen, the heroine of Collin’s trilogy.  A refreshingly independent, loyal, and incredibly brave female character, I loved Katniss from page one.

Yes.  Kids die in this series, and that sucks.  I begin the second book in the series on January 1st.  I encourage all to read this series, it’s well written and unpredictable to say the least (you can’t say the author isn’t original when it comes to plot lines right?).  Thank you Suzanne Collins.

Look for The Hunger Games in theaters this March!
